Practice Profile
The Company from which Hunt Brewin originates was established in Guernsey in 1982. Julian Hunt was involved in the setting up of the firm. Peter Brewin came to Guernsey and joined the Practice in 1987. Between them, Julian and Peter have over 50 years of Building Surveying experience in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
Over this time, Hunt Brewin have been involved in a broad range of Building Surveying and Architectural projects in Guernsey from their core surveying and valuation activities through to the design and administration of Building Contracts on both residential and commercial properties.
Julian Hunt BSc. MRICS
Julian obtained a degree in Building Surveying at Leicester Polytechnic and has been in practice in Guernsey since 1982. Julian formed Hunt Brewin with Peter in 1999. As a Chartered Building Surveyor, Julian has been involved in all aspects of the profession from residential survey and valuation work through to the design and administration of Building Contracts, advising in connection with commercial properties, i.e. alteration and refurbishment works together with advising Landlords and Tenants in connection with dilapidations and has been involved as a Expert Witness in connection with Legal Disputes and Expert Witness matters.
Peter Brewin BSc. (Hons) MRICS
Peter Brewin graduated with an Honours Degree in Building Surveying from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1987, during which time he gained experience working for a Chartered Surveying Practice in Plymouth. Peter moved to Guernsey in 1987 to join the Practice which eventually became Hunt Brewin in 1999. Peter’s experience covers the full spectrum of Building Surveying activities from both commercial and residential surveys, residential valuation and the design, detailing and administration of building projects on all types of property. Peter is experienced in the preparation of Expert Witness reports and advising Clients and their legal advisors in connection with litigation and arbitration.
When time allows around work and his family, Peter enjoys music, food and wine and has been banned from skate boarding.
